Everything you put into SHOON can be taken back out, and then removed entirely. This page explains both, including what to do if you cannot open the app.

Deletion cannot be undone, and we cannot recover anything afterwards. There is no thirty-day grace period and no copy kept on a shelf.
So if there is any chance you will want these days back, export first: Insights → Export, as a spreadsheet or a PDF. It takes under a minute and the file is yours.
We ask twice, and ask you to type your username the second time, because this is the one action in SHOON with no undo. It should be impossible to do by accident and perfectly possible to do on purpose.
You do not need a working app, or even an account you can still sign in to. Write to either address below from the email address on the account:
Put “Delete my SHOON account” in the subject and include your username if you remember it. If you cannot write from the account's own address, say so and we will find another way to check it is you — we will not delete an account on the word of somebody who cannot show it is theirs.
We answer within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming it is you. In practice it is usually the same day.

Two things survive, and it is fairer to say so than to imply otherwise.
What you already sent to somebody else. A message you sent sits in their conversation as much as yours, and a photograph somebody saved to their own phone is on their phone. We can delete our copy. We cannot reach into another person's account or another person's device.
Reports about serious harm. If a report was made about conduct involving a child or a credible threat, a minimal record of it is kept for as long as the law requires. Deleting an account is not a way to erase that. It contains what is necessary and nothing else.
You do not have to delete everything to remove something. Individual moments can be deleted from inside a day, a shared calendar can be stopped at any time, and you can leave a community without leaving SHOON.
If you want a particular thing removed and cannot find how, write to us and we will do it rather than telling you to delete your account.
